The 15th Beijing Municipal Women's Congress is set to open in the capital city on July 8. Delegates from Xicheng district have expressed their expectations for the congress and personal determination to strive for greater achievements at the workplace.

Wang Xiaoqian, President of Xicheng District Women's Federation (XDWF), said that the upcoming congress will bring together women of different ethnic groups from all social sectors to talk about women's cause and the work of women's federations. She added that she will earnestly fulfill her obligations, study and grasp the guiding principles of the congress, and make full use of her roles in serving women.

Noting that it is an honor for her to be elected as a delegate to the congress, Zeng Tingyan, Vice-President of XDWF, said that she will firmly shoulder her duties, study, publicize and implement the guiding principles of the congress.

"Over 40 percent of Chinese scientific and technological workers are women. As a founder of a technology-driven company, I am honored to be one of them. Right now, a rising number of women in China have shouldered huge responsibilities in technological innovation, managed various research programs, and shown their unique as well as constructive strength on the frontline of sci-tech research," said Shan Dandan, President of Beijing FOR-U Smart Freight Information Technology Co., Ltd. She went on to say that she will unite and lead women to further enhance the country's strength in the building of a digital transportation powerhouse, and rally them together for the cultivation of new quality productive forces.

Gu Ling, President of Beijing Yuanzhihe Biotechnology Co., Ltd, is a veteran with two-decade-long military experience. During the past years, she has led nearly 3,000 veterans and their spouses, about 95 percent of whom were women, to launch their own business ventures, worked with other women entrepreneurs to set up business incubation venues for women, shown women's special charm and values through cultural empowerment, raised donations for the Spring Bud Project, and has done her utmost to further promote the influence of women's federations. As a delegate to the congress, Gu said that she will continuously lead women to strive for self-reliance and make higher contributions to the cause of women and children in the years ahead.

Zeng Xuelian, Director of Xicheng District Reading Promotion Center, said that it is a great honor for her to be elected as a delegate to the congress. She said that she will rally more social forces for reading promotion affairs in Xicheng, bolster the service and efficiency of relevant reading venues, strengthen the building of local reading activity brands and provide the public with better cultural services. She will also engage in the publicity and implementation of the guiding principles of the congress.

Wan Meiying, President of Beijing Haoke Education & Technology Group, said that being a delegate to the congress is not only a personal honor but also recognition of the outstanding performance by all women teachers in her company. She noted that she will thoroughly study and grasp the guiding principles of the congress, fully implement the strategy for invigorating the country through science and education, adhere to the original aspiration of helping the country be self-reliant in science and technology, carry out various science-popularization education activities in collaboration with other science popularization workers, enrich relevant resources and bolster scientific literacy of youth.
