Beijing Women's Federation

To further promote new socialist family civilization, and make full use of the exemplary role of the Capital's Most Beautiful Families, Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) launched a lecture tour of Capital's Most Beautiful Families this year. As part of the tour, the lecturers shared their family stories in Chaoyang District on August 15. The event in Chaoyang drew the attendance of about 150 representatives of the Most Beautiful Families at the municipal and lower levels.

Chasing Medical Dream

Ding Wenyun comes from a family of doctors in China's Taiwan. She has fostered deep love for the country during her academic studies, work and family life in the capital city in the past decades.

Ding has eventually obtained her doctoral degree in Beijing despite mounting pressures. She has closely witnessed the fast development of the country's medical cause and she has made efforts to serve as a bridge between medical workers across the Taiwan Strait.

Ding and her husband, who is also a medical worker, have cherished their common medical dream, lived a happy marriage and family life, promoted the mutual understanding between the people across the Taiwan Strait. They become a vivid testament to the notion that the people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are members of one and the same family.

Devoting to Public Welfare Causes

Yang Zhanling is a resident from Yuer Hutong in Dongcheng District. In the past decades, he has engaged in the reconstruction of local housing and other infrastructural facilities, the improvement of living environment, and helping other people there repair furniture and resolve problems in daily life.

Yang and his volunteer team have taken part in the building of their residential community, the sorting of garbage and the establishment of a public reading venue for the youth.

Yang's wife, Ji Zhenghong, is a decades-long member of the Communist Party of China (CPC). During the COVID-19 epidemic period, she volunteered to donate her blood and work at the residential community's entrance. The couple has become a vivid example of dedicated sacrifice.

Zou Xiaoxin, a delegate to the 15th Beijing Municipal Women's Congress, gave a thematic speech about the development of women's social organizations. Lu Liming, President of Chaoyang Women's Federation, announced the opening of the semi-final for a speech contest that is aimed at making the voice of women heard and building the district into a beautiful and livable place.

In the next step, BWF will continue with the campaign on looking for the most beautiful families, press ahead with the lecture tour themed with fine family stories both offline and online, adopt multiple channels to display the charm of the selected families, and make full use of their demonstration roles in the implementation of core socialist values.
