BWF's Vice-President Zhang Ningyu conveyed the requirements about safeguarding women's rights and interests by the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF). Concerning implementing the spirit of the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and performing duties for the next steps, she highlighted that women's federations should effectively shoulder their political responsibility of safeguarding women's rights and interests. They should implement the relevant requirements of the ACWF, improve the capacity for political judgment, thinking, and implementation and safeguard women's rights and interests according to the laws.
She urged the federations to focus on solving the most pressing issues and difficulties of women and systematically planning the work on women's rights protection. It is necessary to focus on key issues such as domestic violence, sexual offenses, rural women's land rights, gender discrimination in employment, and legal support and assistance, further clarify the emphasis of each district women's federation, and systematically plan and strategize local rights protection work. All levels of women's federations should act as detectors of risks and hidden dangers, integrate service resources, and promote policies and regulations, forming a unified, and comprehensive work pattern.
Zhang also encouraged the federations to enhance capabilities and qualities to build a team of rights protection cadres who are loyal, clean, and responsible. The federations should continuously learn new knowledge, acquire new skills, strive to build a high-quality team of rights protection cadres who are daring, diligent, skilled, and virtuous, and enhance the professional level of rights protection work.
