Activity Held in Beijing to Promote Fitness Education Among Families

Liang Wei, Director of Beijing Working Committee on the Caring for the Next Generation, Chen Yanping, Vice-President of the BWF and Li Jinchun, Deputy Director-General of Bureau of Retired Veteran Cadres of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, attended the event.
At the opening ceremony, children performed traditional Chinese martial arts and rope-skipping, showcasing their vitality.
Xiao Ruoteng, member of China's national gymnastics team and world champion, talked with attendees about his growth experience and called on youths to proactively engage in physical exercises, build up their body and form strong will.
In their separate speeches, representatives of youths and parents hoped that all attendees would enjoy themselves in relevant activities.
The participating children aged between 4 and 12 were divided into four groups and activities including steeplechase, Frisbee, sandbag-throwing, archery, basketball, football, badminton and touhu (an ancient game in which contestants throw arrows into wine pitchers) were organized among 500 families from various districts in Beijing.
Children showed their bravery and pioneering spirit during the event. Many parents said that the event met their needs of attending outdoors activities, strengthened personal fitness, and further improved parent-child relations.
