On the afternoon of March 8, the stage of Tianyou Hall in Beijing Jiaotong University was filled with melodious music and beautiful songs. All seats under the stage were occupied and applause like tides burst from audience constantly. The “Showing the Elegant Demeanour of Women and Integrating Beautiful Dreams” - Performance of Capital Sisters to Celebrate the International Women’s Day undertaken by Beijing Jiaotong University, hosted by Beijing Women Entrepreneurs Association, Beijing Family Construction Promotion Association, Capital Female Professors Association and Beijing Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Women Sorority and supported by Beijing Women’s Federation, was held grandly.
The programs for the performance was selected and sent by each Women’s Commission of democratic parties and women organizations of main undertakers. First of all, 40 Taiwan sisters in Beijing kicked off the prelude of the performance with melodious songs Throwing Copper and Dream Journey of Taiwan characteristics, expressing the deep feeling of cross-strait sisters and common expectation and blessing for the bright future. Dances The Clear Water of Wanquan River, Dream Dance, Jura, Gangnam Style, Yoga Performance, Spanish Dance of Swan Lake and Yishan Folk song, whether passionate, soft or rhythmic, presented the audience with beauty. Chorus Kangding Love Song and Dance of Youth, solo Reed Catkins and Chinese Dream and Pingju opera Flower Is a Matchmaker was melodious and lingering. Poem recitation Hymn of Light and Ode to the Oak was rhythmic and soul-stirring. Cross talk Low-carbon Lifestyle was full of wit and humor, which received constant laughter. Moreover, the fashion show Fashion Journey of Traditional Handicraft and A Harmonious Family Means Wealth revealed the elegant demeanour of capital women, pushing the performance to the climax.
During the performance, the official microblog “Lotus_Beijing Women” of International Department of Beijing Women’s Federation was taken as the micro-platform for interaction. The audience under the stage sent pictures, post comments and voted happily following the constant climax of the performance. The distance between performers and audience was shortened through interaction. The friendship between sisters was integrated. The International Women’s Day was spent happily.
The performance carried out the spirit of thrift and enthusiasm with women from all walks of life building stage and performing themselves and all performers participating out of duty, integrating the wisdom and participation passion of various Women’s Commissions of democratic parties and women organizations and expressing the festival greetings to vast women of the whole city, which is a centralized exhibition of socialist core values promotion and innovative culture construction achievements.
