On March 6, “Beijing Women Artists Workshop” was settled in Fengtai World Flowers Grand View Garden, which is the second municipal “Women Artists Workshop” settled in Fengtai after Garden Expo. The Women Artists Workshop collected exquisite works from dozens of women artists in Fengtai District, involving paper-cuts, rabbit gods, Chinese zithers, calligraphy and painting mounting and other fields, and played a positive role in solving the re-employment of unemployed women losing land, leading women to get rich by virtue of science and technology, promoting excellent traditional handicrafts and passing on national culture.
The Women Artists Workshop was built in the Tea and Flowers Appreciation Hall by Women’s Federation of the district through cooperating with Flowers Grand View Garden, aiming to let tourists know more about folk handicraft works and the traditional culture of Fengtai District while enjoying the beautiful view of the park.
There were over ten women artists and masters making bean painting on the site of the activity to welcome 2014 World Seed Congress and promote women artists’ excellent handicraft works in Fengtai District. In the following days, the artists will finish 100 mascots “Fengfeng” and 100 logo works for World Seed Congress. These bean paintings will be presented to foreign friends from more than 70 countries. These novel, characteristic and natural bean paintings will convey the traditional Chinese culture and the exquisite techniques of women artists in Fengtai District to the world. During the activity, women artists turned the waste into treasure, making clothes with life waste and exhibited in the Grand View Garden.
Gao Feng, the deputy head of Fengtai District, Miao Hua, the deputy director of District People’s Congress, members from District Women’s Federation and women entrepreneurs association of Fengtai District (more than 200 persons in total) attended the activity.
