In the afternoon on Jan. 19, the Beijing Women’s International Center made arrangement for 9 people from embassies in China, domestic and overseas women organizations, and other women’s delegations both domestic and overseas to visit 798 Art District, one of the modern Beijing landmarks, and further communicate with the organizing committee of 798 International Children's Arts Festival and other art institutions and organizations, in order to prompt integrative development of various cultures in Beijing, and explore a new model people-to-people diplomacy of women in Beijing.
In addition to Ms. Hoda Jadalla, press counselor of Embassy of Egypt in China, Ms. Deirdre Joy Smith, founder of American Female Leadership Development Plan (Power), Ms. Zhao Jing, China consultant of Power plan, and Ms. Yao Yue, Chief Executive Officer of Spiritual Home Fund under China Women Development Foundation, and other women’s representatives both domestic and overseas were invited to attend this activity.
They carefully listened to the plan of 2014 International Day of Families, and the theme activity introduction of 798 International Children's Arts Festival, and visited art museums and facilities in 978 Arts Districts, such as Bai Ma Mei Duo Arts Center, and Zhu Bingren Bronze Art Museum etc., and spoke highly of organic integration in the arts district regarding modern art, architectural space, culture industry, historical context and urban living environment.
During the visit, the guests said that they are willing to work with Beijing Women's Federation to give full play to 798 Arts District and integrate domestic and overseas high-quality resources to prompt international culture communication and exchange. In addition, the Beijing Women’s International Center, Embassy of Egypt in China and Power plan discussed cooperation on holding cultural arts communication lectures, and holding art theme activities during Power-Beijing Female Leadership Forum.
