Establishment of International Cultural Exchange Platform by Beijing Women's Federation to Promote Constructing Capital of Culture

In the afternoon on Mar. 25, the activity “Russian Culture at Universities” was held in the library of Beijing International Studies University by Beijing Women’s International Center, Beijing International Studies University and Russian Cultural Centre in Beijing, as scheduled.
This activity is one of the international cultural exchange activity series, which drew much attention and participation of many teachers and students. The students gathered together to appreciate Russian landscape oil painting exhibition, or carefully watch Russian historic culture propaganda film, or attentively listen Russian art lecture, or exchange with Russian guests in Russian, on topic of interest.
The students expected that more such activities will be carried out in colleges or universities to help them learn and understand culture of each country, so that they could rapidly grow into talents with international vision and International communication ability. Kong Nuofu, the cultural counselor of Russian Embassy in China, director of Russian Cultural Centre in Beijing, and Qiu Ming, the vice president of Beijing International Studies University as well as other guests attended this activity in which they communicated and exchanged with the teachers and students at site.
In order to prompt development of Beijing into a capital filled with top talents and advanced culture, Beijing Women's Federation with women’s unique role and advantage in public diplomacy, worked closely with Russian Cultural Centre in Beijing and cultural organizations of other countries in Beijing to organize a series of cultural exchange activities with great social influence.
