Beijing Women’s Federation Receives the Delegation of Ecuador Chinese Friendship Women’s Association on a Friendly Visit

On the morning of September 15, Beijing Women’s Federation received a friendly visit from the delegation of Ecuador Chinese Friendship Women’s Association, a group of 9 headed by Madame Alicia Pons, at the Smart Lady Studio Development Association of Dongcheng District.
Members of the delegation at first listened to a presentation of Beijing’s overall women development and entrepreneurship/employment etc, then led by the head of the Smart Lady Studio of Dongcheng District, looked over ostrich egg carvings, gold wire mosaics, ceramics, kites and other handicrafts created by the Smart Lady Studio. They marveled at the exquisite craftsmanship of Beijing Smart Lady Studio and the profound heritage of old Beijing culture. On the scene where the crochet clothing course of the Smart Lady Studio was observed and learned, members of the Delegation one after another put on the Smart Lady Studio’s works in high spirits, and personally felt the beauty created by skilled hands and ingenuity.
Madame Alicia Pons expressed her heartfelt thanks for our Federation’s warm and considerate reception, and hoped for a strengthened interactive exchange and friendly cooperation with Beijing’s women in the future, and to contribute to deeper sisterly affections between China and Ecuador. This visit was also accompanied by relevant heads of the Americas Division of the International Department of All-China Women’s Federation and Beijing Women’s International Exchange Center
Since its founding in 2004, Ecuador Chinese Friendship Women’s Association has been carrying on plentiful and colorful cultural activities of friendship with China, and played an active role in boosting mutual understanding between the two peoples of China and Ecuador and enhancing China’s presence in Ecuador. The Association sent a delegation to pay a visit to China this time in a bid for further strengthening amicable relations between women of the two nations, as well as enhancing extensive exchanges and cooperation between women’s organizations in the two countries.
