In the two days of September 17 and 18, Beijing Women’s Federation received a friendly visit from the 20-member Women Cadres Workshop of Russia, Central Asia and Transcaucasia. Heads of the governing parties and women’s institutions/ organizations of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, 9 countries in total, attended the “Consolidating Women’s Power and Building the Silk Road Economic Belt Together” themed workshop in China, aiming to coordinate with General Secretary Xi Jinping’s “One Belt and One Road” strategic decision, further strengthen friendly relations with China’s women’s institutions and organizations, boost friendly exchanges and cooperation between different countries in the areas of gender equality and women’s development, and put ahead with the “Silk Road economic belt” construction. The Delegation was headed by Ms. Nagada Leeng, Armenia’s Vice Premier, National Assembly Vice-President, and Republican Party Women’s Council chairperson.
Accompanied by Ms. Zhou Zhijun, Vice Chairwoman of Beijing Women’s Federation, the delegation visited the Beijing woman entrepreneurs’ business and the municipal-level intangible cultural heritage workshop, and listened to her presentation of Beijing women’s participation in economic construction, cultural inheritance and other work. Ms. Yuan Yongping, representative of Beijing’s woman entrepreneurs and Beijing Liangnuopai Fashion Co., Ltd., received the delegation warmly, and narrated the company’s entrepreneurial journey, brand concept and public welfare activities. The delegation then looked over the garment manufacturing shop production line, design studio, garment display hall etc. All members of the delegation marveled at the fashionable design and exquisite craftsmanship of Liangnuopai, and expressed their admiration for the persevering, constant-improvement entrepreneurial spirit and the corporate public-welfare social responsibility of Beijing’s woman entrepreneurs.
Accompanied by relevant heads of the women’s federation of Xicheng District and the Beijing Women’s International Exchange Center, the delegation visited the municipal-level intangible cultural heritage imitative ancient porcelain art gallery representing the unique porcelain technique of the “Beijing painted porcelain”. Members of the delegation not only appreciated masterpieces of the Beijing painted porcelain craftsmanship, observing the handicraft process of the Beijing painted porcelain making, but also personally learned such operations as pictorial composition, glazing, color-filling etc. under a master craftswoman’s guidance, feeling the profundity of Chinese culture in the hands-on experience.
When the event concluded, members of the delegation all expressed their sincere thanks for Beijing Women’s Federation’s warm reception, and hoped to establish long-term connections, further carry out exchanges and cooperation, and deepen sisterly friendship with women’s organizations in Beijing on the Silk Road of the new era, so as to boost all-win development and prosperity together.
