          On the afternoon of October 20, 2014, Ms. Zhou Zhijun, Vice Chairwoman of Beijing Women’s Federation, received a visit of Ms. Liao Xiaoxue, President of the New Zealand Federation of Women’s Institutes along with her group at the Beijing Women and Children Social Service Center, then communicated and talked about establishing friendly cooperation relations between both sides, conducting family communication between the two countries, and spreading China’s excellent traditional culture overseas etc.
         Ms. Liao Xiaoxue represented the aims of the New Zealand Federation of Women’s Institutes to promote women’s competence, build happy families, and advance cultural exchanges, and the jobs it has done in artistic activities and the propagation of traditional Chinese culture. Ms. Zhou Zhijun expressed her high attention to stronger ties and development of cooperation with women’s organizations of New Zealand, and presented the basic information of Beijing Women’s Federation; hoped that the Federation of Women’s Institutes could introduce New Zealand’s characteristic environmental education etc into China, meanwhile praised the Federation of Women’s Institutes for its work in advancing the propagation of China’s traditional culture overseas. Both sides thought that they could give full play to unique advantages of women’s organizations together in the future, and carry out a rich variety of cultural communication activities on the family theme, meanwhile provide a service platform for boosting the women’s entrepreneurship and employment of the two countries.
         After the talks, delegates of the New Zealand Federation of Women’s Institutes also visited the Beijing Women and Children Social Service Center, and learned in detail about the 8-item service work contents provided by Beijing Women’s Federation for women, children, and families, talked cooperation intention with the head of the Beijing Women and Children Social Service Center, and discussed the feasibility of carrying out various activities.
         In the future, Beijing Women’s Federation will continue to embrace an international perspective, actively develop the communication and connection with women of various countries worldwide, expand the cohesion and international influence of the women’s federation, showcase Beijing’s city charm through women’s characteristic external communication work, and contribute to the development of the capital into an international communication center and an internationally first-class harmonious, livable metropolis.
