An achievements exhibition of “Paint the World, See the World” – International Culture Experience Week for Beijing Families sponsored by Beijing Women’s International Exchanges Center was held at the Juvenile & Children Reading Experience Wonderland on the morning of November 30, to boost cultural fusion in Beijing, to help families in Beijing understand foreign cultures from a female and artistic perspective, to pass on excellent Chinese traditional cultures and to contribute to the building of harmonious families in Beijing and the development of Beijing into an international metropolis and a global cultural center. Many representatives of families in Beijing gather there to enjoy the expansion of vision and the connection of minds.
From October to November, this activity collected a lot of paintings on the theme of “Her World” from Chinese and foreign juveniles and children below 18 years old living in Beijing. In the form of painting art, these works showed women’s customs all around the world, or presented the imaged future women, or used fine skills to embody various excellent merits that are exclusively owned by women… During the experience week, the sponsor particularly selected Top 30 from the numerous works for the achievements exhibition lasting to December 7.
These young painters shared experience and gave performances like Mongolian dance and recitation of Tagore’s poems and essays with music during the activity lasting for 30 days. Parents also recognized such family culture activities using arts as a means to widen vision. A mom stated that the activity provided children with an excellent platform to display their unlimited imagination, creation and pursuit of arts, and hoped continued participation in such activities in the future for children to grow with arts. A father said that all of the family members obtained knowledge, aesthetic pleasure and happiness because parents and children thought and practiced together to accomplish the works. Mexican Lady, Indian Girl, Superwoman… paintings full of imagination and international elements about women were displayed on the site. The paintings, the cheerful laughs of children and the harmony and happiness of parents joined together, producing a melodious song of family culture.
In recent years, Beijing Women’s Federation held a series of activities of International Culture Promotion for Beijing Families, providing a multi-culture exchange platform for Chinese and foreign families living in Beijing. As a part of the series, “Paint the World, See the World” will be held continuously with innovative forms and contents, to serve as a bridge to connect families and a language for cultural dialogue by means of various “arts” and hence to enrich art experience of families in Beijing.
