On the afternoon of September 24, Beijing Women’s Federation received a delegation of ten members led by Saroj Pandey, general secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party, at Beijing Women and Children Social Service Center, accompanied by Wang Shucun, vice chairwoman of the federation and Zhou Jing, associate counsel of the federation.
Saroj Pandey paid this visit to China at the invitation of the International Department of the Central Committee of CPC. Her visit this time aimed at learning about China’s grassroots party building, efforts made for women, economic and social development, etc. Wang Shucun extended a warm welcome to the delegation on behalf of Beijing Women’s Federation, and accompanied them to visit Beijing Women and Children Social Service Center where the delegation better understood the comprehensive rights protection, entrepreneurship and employment, family education, rescuing and helping, and other social public services offered by Beijing Women’s Federation.
At the symposium, Wang Shucun systematically introduced the visitors to the main activities of Beijing Women’s Federation and the undertaking for women and children in Beijing, in the hope of strengthening cooperation and improving friendship between the women of the two countries. Saroj Pandey gave a description of her governing party’s great attention to empowering women under Mr. Modi. She gave a praise for the efforts made for women and children in Beijing and expressed a wish for more exchanges, closer mutual understanding and mutual development.
Leaders from the Organization Department, Liaison Department, Department of Rights and Interests and Beijing Women and Children Social Service Center of Beijing Women’s Federation and the delegation shared ideas in terms of the work for women and children.
