Beijing Women's Federation Received a Delegation of Mongolian Women
On the morning of November 10, 2015, Beijing Women's Federation received a six-member delegation led by Ms. Ts.Tsogzolmaa, president of Mongolian Social Democratic Women’s Federation at Fengtai District. The delegation’s visit was aimed at sharing valuable experience from both sides in improving gender equality and female participation in social development at grass-roots level.
At the community service station, block 3, Fangqunyuan, Fengzhuang Subdistrict, the community leader gave a comprehensive introduction to the delegation about the general condition of the community, and particularly, about the Fangzhuang Folk Art Gallery. In the Beijing Smart Lady Art Studio in the gallery, the guests learned paper cutting from the smart ladies, and created various paper-cut works.
Ms. Ts.Tsogzolmaa said, she was deeply impressed by the four-level vertical organization system of Beijing Women’s Federation, which covers district/county, subdistrict, township and community, and in particular, was inspired by the federation’s practices of innovating the development mode of grassroots women's organizations, guiding women through community building, and integrating resources to create cultural exchange platforms for community residents. Now, at the invitation of Chinese president Xi Jinping, Mongolian president was on a state visit to China, and the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries has created a favorable environment for both sides to exchange in terms of economy, culture, education, humanities, etc. The leaders of Beijing Women's International Center and the women's federation of Fengtai District said that as Beijing and the Mongolian capital of Ulan Bator are sister cities, they hoped to strengthen the sisterhood through communications between the women's organizations of both sides, and to carry out pragmatic cooperation on the basis of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness embodied by women with their specific wisdom and genuineness.
The leaders of the Asia Branch of International Department of ACWF and the working committee of Fangzhuang Subdistrict also accompanied in the visit.
