Beijing Women’s Federation organized activities for participants of the Seminar on Social Management Capacity Building for Female Officials from Developing Countries in 2016, at the city's Haidian Women and Children’s Activity Center on June 22.
The seminar was sponsored by Ministry of Commerce and hosted by China Women's University. Some 58 attendees took part in the exchange visit held by Beijing Women's Federation, including those from national women’s federations, government, congress, finance ministries, public services and management ministries, and foreign affairs ministries of 23 countries such as Pakistan, Botswana, Malawi, South Africa and Chile.
The visit aimed to help attendees better understand how Chinese women’s federations play a unique role in serving for women and children, and participating in social management.
Head of Haidian Women’s Federation introduced the general situation of women and children in Haidian District, as well as the purpose and objectives of founding the center.
Following her talk, the delegation members visited classrooms with special features, and experienced public service training provided by the center on family education, recreation and sports promotion, and labor skills, for community residents and entrepreneurial women.
Afterward, the visitors took part in a discussion about the services, their content, organization and achievements. Delegates were impressed by the complete facilities and diverse services of the center, and they expressed willingness at improving their own social service level based on the experience.
