The Salon Activity
Beijing International Communication Association (BICA) held its first series of activities under the title “Phoenix Four Seasons Salon” at their administrative office in the capital on July 27, under the guidance of Beijing Women's International Exchange Center (BWIEC).
The activity aimed to help women in the capital widen their international perspective, and assist them in development by integrating quality resources at home and abroad. Around 70 representatives participated in the event, including those from culture, media, education, investment and publishing.
On the theme of “Opportunities for Overseas Development in China’s Cultural and Trade Industries,” the Salon was chaired by Gui Fan, vice-president and secretary general of Beijing International Communication Association, and vice-dean of Beijing International Chinese College.
Wu Chengzhong, a professor from the School of Public Administration at the University of International Business and Economics, who is also director of the Research Center of Culture and Leisure Industry, shared his research findings and thoughts, especially from the perspectives of the impact of the UK's Brexit vote, the reaction of China's domestic market and the new characteristics of China's foreign cultural investment.
Wang Longyan introduced the Frankfurt Book Fair 2016, known as a major indicator of world culture, and recommended the exhibition project Art+. Wang is the vice-general manager of Beijing Huayunshangde International Culture Communication Co., which is the governing body of BICA. Her introduction brought attendees the opportunity to participate in international cultural and artistic dialogue.
Later, women entrepreneurs from traditional clothing companies, jewelry brands, healthcare, baking and other fields shared their own and experienced others creative and cultural products. They showed how they had combined their own work and entrepreneurial experience at home and abroad.
Organizers said that all the members enjoyed the products' great originality and the admired women's understanding of culture and yearning for a better life.
