Beijing Women's Federation receives Turkmenistan women's delegation

Officials from Beijing Women’s Federation (BWF) received a delegation of women representatives from Turkmenistan on July 24 at the Women and Children’s Social Service Center in the capital's Shijingshan District.

The delegation was lead by Gulshat Mammedova, deputy speaker of the Turkmenistan National Assembly, together with Gurbangul Bayramova, president of the country’s Women Alliance. The ambassador of Turkmenistan in China accompanied the visitors.

Zhao Haiying, vice-president of BWF, extended her greetings to the members of the delegation, and accompanied them on a tour of the center.

In communication, Zhao introduced the main functions of the federation and the basic situation of women and children in Beijing. She also highlighted the federation’s efforts to promote the creative Beijing Smart Lady campaign, and women's employment and entrepreneurship.

Mammedova said she admired the work carried out by BWF, and explained that women in Turkmenistan are also good at handicraft skills. She expressed hope that the two organizations could build future platforms for women's development in the field of handicrafts, and promote exchange and mutual learning.

Later, delegates took part in discussion with officials from BWF and Shijingshan Women’s Federation on the matters of product distribution channels, and women's employment in the domestic service industry.

Both sides indicated that they would strengthen contact between women’s organizations in their countries, and promote exchanges on handicraft skills training and domestic services, respectively.

Officials from the Liaison Department of the All-China Women's Federation, the Liaison Department of BWF, Beijing Women International Center, and Shijingshan Women’s Federation accompanied the visitors during the gathering.
