Organizers held a special ceremony to commemorate five years of cooperation between Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) and the Korea-China Friendship Association of Culture & Economy in Xicheng District of the capital on October 26.

About 50 people, including representatives from Republic of Korea (ROK), representatives of women's federations and trainees from the Xicheng, Dongcheng, Haidian and Tongzhou districts, participated in the event.

Kim Man Su, an officer with the ROK embassy in China said "The event was a wonderful demonstration of people's diplomacy between China and ROK and it deepened the friendship of women in the two countries. The Chinese and ROK people are connected with each other through long and deep cooperation," said Kim.

Kim Young Aeh, the president of the Korea-China Friendship Association of Culture & Economy, expressed her satisfaction regarding the achievements of the cooperation between the two parties over the past five years and confidence in future cooperation.

She hope that the training courses can be improved and kept in line with international standards. The two parties shall create more outstanding projects in line with the entrepreneurial needs of Chinese and ROK women and promote women's development jointly," said Kim Young Aeh.

Zhao Haiying, vice president of BWF, delivered a speech during the event. She referred to the process of achieving results as "the process of growing flowers". Zhao expressed her expectations: the focus of future cooperation should be transformed from training to entrepreneurial practice; the field of cooperation should be transformed from floriculture to a broader range, and with the successful experience of both parties, women from every section of society in Beijing should cooperate with even more social organization in the ROK.

On the same day the commencement ceremony for the Xicheng District 2018 China-ROK Women's Floriculture Entrepreneurial Skills Application, Demonstration and Promotion Project was held, where 25 trainees received certificates issued by the Korea-China Friendship Association of Culture & Economy.
