The delegation visits ZhongguancunInno Way and Beijing Xiuhua Farmhouse Tourism and Sightseeing Garden

Beijing Women's Federation welcomed theCuban delegation consisting of 10 female officials, including Chairman Fernandez, Secretary of Cuban Women's Federation Secretariat andDeputy to the Cuban National People's Congress,from September 4 to 6, in Beijing'sHaidianand Changpingdistricts.

For this visit, the delegation wanted to learn from Beijing Women's Federation's experience in finding solutionsfor the advancement of women and encouraging them to take part in social, economic and family development.

On September 4, the delegation visitedHaidian Women and Children Activity Center.

They visited every specialized functional classroom in the activity center and joined students undergoing training, studying how to comfort babies, how to paint peonies in traditional Chinese painting and practicing the catwalk.

In the cooking training classroom, housekeeping servants who were studying how to make pastries presented mooncakes they just made tothe delegation.

They experienced mid-autumn festival's atmosphere andwomen's sincere friendship. In the music classroom, inspired by the song, the delegation sang Cuban traditional songs with deep emotion. They praised the friendly relationship between Cuban and Chinese women.

In addition,the delegation praised the center on providing household expertise training to community residents and entrepreneurs, on promoting traditional culture and on people-friendly measures and concrete practice in family education services.

The delegation deeply communicated with the center about details of organizing every service.

Afterwards, the delegation came to ZhongguancunInno Way andlearned about how Inno Way contributes to building the country's first one-stop innovative and entrepreneurial public service platform, about its history and accomplishments it has achieved.

Led by heads of Haidian District Women's Federation, members of the delegation got the chance to take a look at household projectors and Maglev digital speakersand other innovative products that were incubated in Zhongguancun. Many of these products were developed by female entrepreneurs and female entrepreneurial teams.

Later on, the delegation visited entrepreneurial projects such as Dark Horse University. After visitingBaidu Brain Experience Center, they got to grips with women's roles in these entrepreneurial and innovative projects and praised women's federations at both municipal and district levelsfor their support to womenthrough policy, training and capital.

On September 6, the Cuban officials went to Beijing Xiuhua Farmhouse Tourism and Sightseeing Garden and investigated the current condition of grassrootswomen participating in the agricultural production and tourism industry.

The delegation learnedfromthe garden's manager Wang Xiuhua that most employees of the garden are females and the main business expands from sightseeing and tourism to farm work experience. The garden hashelped promote local women's employment and increased their salary.

During the visit, the delegation tastes the garden's fresh fruits and showed interest in a wide variety of fruits and the cutting-edge planting technology.

Fernandez suggested that Cuba is also a socialist country andit has organizations and institutions forwomen's training and promoting women's professional capabilities.

Through this field visit, the participants gained a further understanding towards women's federations at both municipal and district levels on how they helped women actively take part in economic and social life.

The two parties reached a consensus that both China and Cuba should pay attention to the affairs of women and children. They hope to strengthen communication and cooperation, fully take advantage of women's unique role in society, economy and family life, and contribute women's wisdom and strength tobuilding a community with a shared future for humanity.

Officials from the All-China Women's Federation Liaison Department America and Oceania Division, Beijing Women's International Center, Haidian District Women's Federation and Changping District Women's Federation also attended the tour.
