This year's 'She Loves Tech' Global Startup Competition Final concludes in Beijing on September 14
Under the guidance of Beijing Women's Federation, the 2019 "She Loves Tech" Global Startup Competition and International Conference, which was organized by Beijing Women's International Center and She Loves Tech (Beijing) Co Ltd, concluded in Beijing on September 14.
With the theme of "technology towards better life", the competition attracted entrepreneurial teams from 20 countries and regions who have joined the Belt and Road Initiative, including China, Bangladesh, France, Germany, Sweden, Latvia, India, Indonesia, Israel, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and the United States.
A total of 15 regional champion teams attendedthe global final, communicating with more than 300 business starters, investors, senior executives and media,on themes of technological entrepreneurship, future trends and female leadership.
The 15 finalists were champion teams fromregional competitions globally. They specialize in medical technology, financial service, data safety, big data-supported agriculture, biological technology, artificial intelligence, self-driving, portable devices, life service, health and education. They focus on resolving tangible matters throughtechnology.
In the science and technology and internet areas, more and more female entrepreneursare playing an important role. They provide more diverse thoughts to advance technological development and social progress.
In the final, the jury, made up of internationally renowned investors in technological areas and experienced female entrepreneurs from both China and abroad, rated the entrepreneurial teams.
Finally, self-driving platform Phantasma Labs from Germany won this global competition's championship with their data analysis that helps self-driving systems improve accuracy.
They will acquire 100,000 yuan(US $14,175,64) non-equity cash and have a priority in financing opportunity from famous venture capital Teja Ventures, ADB ventures and other related funds, plus tailored acceleration services, including one-on-one consulting services (about accounting and business), contacting top enterprise managers and visiting unicorns.
The runner-up was Canairy from Unites States. They provided a software platform to evaluate the quality and change of a person's cough or sound by signal processing and machine learning, which can be used to monitor chronic respiratory disease.
The Indian entrepreneurial team CyCaOncoSolutionscame in third place with technology to inject cancer medicine into a living cell to transfer it from a toxicant to a cure.
In addition, another 12 projects displayed their massive technological potential and broad application expectations.
Speakers including Lean in China Co-founder Virginia Tan, Founder of world-leading education technology corporation VIPKID MiWenjuan, Founder of Chinese new energy vehicle maker Nio Inc Li Bin, Founder of Guangmang APP Wang Yizhi, Senior Vice President of Dell Technology Group Shirley Wu, Refinitiv China Managing Director Nicole Chen, Group Advisor on Social Impact Investments of GRAB Ilaria Chan, Asian Development Bank Venture Investment Director Daniel Hersson, James Chou, Managing Director & CEO, Microsoft for Startups Greater China, Japan & Korea and Leping Social Entrepreneur Foundation Co-founder and CEO JaffShen concentrated on "technology towards better life" and shared with the audience the "she" power in the rise of the "sheconomy".
They also looked at entrepreneurial spirit on the road of entrepreneurship, comparisons of technological trends between China and the world and other themes of how technology and investment shape our future.
All the guests agreed that it's necessary to empower females with technology and let females lead the future. There is great development potential for females in global technological areas. It's necessary to improve women's influence in the technological industry. This not only helps economic development, but also widens areas for advancing social progress and female growth and development.
