During the 2019 Spring Festival, a special program titled Beijing International Families Reunion Dinner was launchedunder the guidance of Beijing Women's Federation (BWF), sponsored by Beijing Women's International Center (BWIC)and co-sponsored by Beijing Non-governmental Organizations Associationfor International Exchanges.
As a special part of the Looking for the Most Beautiful Families campaign in the capital, this year's program invited families from the U.S., Italy, Cuba, Iran and other countries. It also brought together March 8thRed-banner Pacesetters from the capital, recipients of the Most Beautiful Familiesaward, heads of Smart LadyStudios, head chefs of the time-honored brand Quanjude, as well as invited guests from the CCTV program "Dinner at Home".
Some 10 families, from different countries and various sections of society, coordinated toprovide an international New Year dinner show and shared their stories of family happiness.
Highlighting the five themes of "tolerance, patience, magic, inheritance and concern", this year's program was inspired by the feature called "The FlavorsMade byMum", and organizers invited each Chinese family to team up with an international household to showcase their delicious New Year's Eve food. They also told New Year stories from their own countries, which echoed the capital's New Year's Festival spirit and constituted the diversified so-called "cultural scrolls" of Chinese Spring Festival.
While sharing the delicious food, varioushouseholds gathered together happily and interacted with others to show their talents, thereby expressing their festive joy, and showcasing the charm of harmonious families.
The program Beijing International Family Reunion Dinner received strong support from People's Daily, the official mouthpiece of the CPC and the Chinese government as well as an important window for China's cultural exchanges with foreign countries.
The event was also promoted and popularized by People Daily Online and on the website of People's Daily (tv.people.cn). The activities of thewomen's federation brand were widely shared, making full use ofsocial media platforms of Tencent and the coverage of the Gehuacable network in and around the capital.
In the meantime, a video of the program was launched on BWF's official public WeChat account Beijing Women. This year's program, which showed short videos for the first time of platforms such as TikTok, Kuaishou and Weishi,drew the attention of over 10,000 netizens with entertaining, positive and rich content.
As a special part of BWF's Looking for the Most Beautiful Families campaign, BWIChas organizedthe feature programBeijing International Families Reunion Dinner for the past five consecutive years. The event has also received support from Beijing WomenandChildren's SocialServiceCenter and Beijing March 8 Service Center.
