The 6th sessionof the 2019 Experience Chinese Culture with Smart Lady event was held in Suizhi Art Studio in the district of Chaoyang in Beijing City on November 12.
Wang Suizhi, a representative inheritor of traditional flower arranging —one of national-level intangible cultural heritages, was invited to speak with an audience from at home and abroad about her decade-long experience in the art of flower arranging during a live-streaming event which attracted over 300,000 online followers so far.
Wang stressed the succession of traditional Chinese flower arranging techniques and the absorption of the Western-style skills in the production of her works. She herself has sought to integrate elegant lines, which can be frequently found in traditional Chinese artistic creations, with coloration and manufacturing procedures used by practitioners in the West.
Wang explained that flower arranging has already transcended the boundaries of culture and nations and become a carrier for people from all countries to express their wishes and aspirations for a better life.
Meanwhile, Wang has assumed the position of chief flower arranging designer in many high-level international and national events, such as the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games. She emphasized that her work not only involved the creation of beauty, but also enabled her to become connected with major national events and witness some glorious moments of the nation over the past several decades.
The latest live-streaming has gained 8,000 likes onFacebook and 300,000 page views. Many users said they were deeply impressed by Wang's works.
The Experience Chinese Culture with Smart Lady event has become one of the flagship foreign exchange events for Beijing Women's Federations. Under the joint operation of Beijing Women's International Center and Guangming Live, the series of programs has developed into a major platform for outstanding Chinese women to share their inspirational stories with an international audience, with over 8.6 million page views since 2016.
