2024 'Colorful World' International Youth Painting Invitational Exhibition Depicts Better World with New Tech
Date:2024-11-28 9:21:35 Views:To help implement the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Beijing Women's Federation has fully leveraged its strengths in connecting women and children, cooperated with Beijing People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and other institutions on the organization of the "Colorful World" International Youth Painting Invitational Exhibition, a brand event for people-to-people diplomacy, and helped local families as well as the society follow positive conceptions such as sci-tech innovation, cultural inheritance and sustainable development through youth-oriented cultural and artistic exchanges. Themed "New Tech and New Life," the 2024 event brought together children from across the world, who voiced their aspirations for a better life and a better world. The awarding ceremony was held in the China National Film Museum in Beijing on November 23.
The exhibition drew the attendance of youths from 63 countries across the five continents as well as those from 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions, and Taiwan, who shared their unique understanding of science and technology via painting brushes and showed to the world personal creativity and imagination.
The organizing committee received nearly 52,000 submissions. After three rounds of appraisals, the committee selected 427 award-winning entries from international participants and 2,322 award-winning entries from Chinese contestants.
Outstanding entries have been simultaneously on display in the China National Film Museum and the official website of the exhibition: colorfulworld.waae.com.cn. The thematic website comprises several functional sections such as information, online exhibition, videos, and aesthetic support, which allow viewers to closely appreciate outstanding paintings of children from home and abroad in a sci-tech and artistic atmosphere. Additionally, users can give their like and comment and share posts, gaining a glimpse of international artistic exchange and mutual learning.
Since its inauguration in 2021, the exhibition has been held for four times with the participation of over 3,000 Chinese and international social organizations, the delegations of Chinese people overseas, schools and artistic institutions, and about 200,000 youths and families. The exhibition has received extensive coverage of the official Weibo account of the Information Office of Beijing Municipal People's Government, Beijing Review, thepaper.cn and other media outlets.
