Benin’s Vice President Visits Beijing Women and Children Service Center
Date:2024-9-5 10:48:20 Views:On September 4, Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) welcomed a friendly visit by Vice President of Benin Mariam Talata, who was in Beijing for the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), at the Beijing Women and Children Service Center.
Talata and her delegation were briefed on the seven major public service areas provided by the center for women, children and families in Beijing, with a focus on visiting the facilities dedicated to family development services. A guide shared vibrant stories of model families in the capital excelling in filial piety and scientific parenting. Talata inquired about the selection process and criteria for the Capital's Most Beautiful Families and expressed high praise for the work model that promotes family development through the exemplary influence of these families. Talata also viewed photos of various social activities and asked how the center provides comprehensive services covering dating, pre-marriage, and post-marriage periods. Subsequently, the delegation toured the parent-child activity space, parents' school, and family safety and health education facilities. Talata highly commended the meticulous and comprehensive services provided by the center and said many practices are worth learning by Benin.
Talata experienced traditional Chinese activities such as playing the guqin, calligraphy, painting, and Tai Chi classes tailored for women, engaging in friendly exchanges with the participants. She particularly noted the similarity between the sounds of the Chinese guqin and traditional Beninese musical instruments, and expressed her hope for further opportunities to delve deeper into the charm of Chinese traditional culture.

Talata's visit further deepened mutual understanding and friendship between Chinese and Beninese women. The friendship between Chinese and African women has a long history, and BWF will continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation with sisterhood across Africa, promoting cultural integration among women and fostering mutual understanding between China and Africa, contributing to the construction of a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future.
