To further strengthen collaboration among its member organizations and jointly promote the high-quality development of women’s and children’s initiatives in the capital, the Beijing Women’s Federation convened a symposium with member organizations at the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology on May 19, 2026. Attendees included Zhou Zhijun, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group of the Beijing Women’s Federation, Lei Xiaoning, Member of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Vice Chairperson of the Federation, as well as directors and senior representatives of member organizations.

During the discussion session, representatives from the member organizations shared their professional practices and work achievements in light of their respective sector characteristics and operational experience. They also offered suggestions on strengthening women’s ideological guidance, promoting women’s comprehensive development, safeguarding women’s lawful rights and interests, and telling the stories of women in the capital, further building consensus. Participants stated that they would continue to build on their professional fields, actively align with the Federation’s key initiatives, and contribute women’s wisdom and strength through practical action and a strong sense of responsibility.

Zhou Zhijun highly commended the member organizations for their longstanding commitment, solidarity, and dedication. She expressed the hope that all member organizations would use standardized management as a driving force to further improve internal governance and comprehensively enhance their capacity for standardized operations and participation in social governance. She also emphasized the importance of strengthening women’s leadership by reinforcing ideals and convictions, deepening theoretical grounding, broadening perspectives, and promoting collaborative innovation, thereby encouraging women in their respective sectors and fields to pursue self-reliance, self-improvement, and personal development, while further demonstrating the exemplary role of women. In addition, she called on member organizations to work toward creating a better life by deepening public welfare services and leveraging women’s strengths to support family development and social progress, thereby enhancing women’s and children’s sense of fulfillment, happiness, and security.

The Beijing Women’s Federation, she noted, will continue to strengthen support and empowerment efforts, build platforms for resource sharing and coordinated collaboration, and further deepen communication and cooperation with all member organizations. Together, they will unite and inspire the women across the capital to forge ahead on the new journey and make contributions in the new era.

At the meeting, the Beijing Women’s Federation also solicited opinions and suggestions on deepening study and education related to establishing and practicing a correct understanding of governance performance. Zhou Zhijun led participants in studying Xi Jinping Visits Families (Second Volume), calling on all attendees to strengthen their ideological foundation through theoretical study and translate their learning outcomes into concrete actions that serve women, children, and families and contribute to the capital’s high-quality development.
