中国妇女（英文）网：Beijing Exhibits Environmental Protection-themed Handicrafts

The Beijing Women's Federation held a campaign exhibiting creative handicrafts on the theme of environmental protection in Beijing on March 16-17, 2013, featuring more than 60 handicrafts made by citizens and families.
The federation also set up a ballot box for visitors to vote on their favorite handicraft.

The first prizes at the exhibition were won by Cui Weiqi from Haidian District for her piece made out of waste cans, called Nine Dragons, and by Li Shuyuan from Daxing District for her piece made out of scrap cloth, called Beautiful Spring Scenery. In addition, four second-place prizes and six third-place prizes were awarded. Vice Presidents of the Beijing Women's Federation Chen Ling and Zhou Zhijun presented the prizes to award winners on March 17, 2013.

The exhibits on display were selected out of about 700 handicrafts made by citizens and families. People made handicrafts using natural materials, waste and product packaging, including bamboo, wood, leaves, mud, shells, egg shells, cans, old schoolbags and glass bottles.

The Beijing Women's Federation has held several activities to raise awareness of the importance of environmental protection, including children's painting, photography and handicraft activities.
